For the second year, Data CoLAB partnered with the Data Classification and Analysis Conference (JOCLAD 2024) and awarded the winners of the LEIRIACKATHON, held in April at the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (ESTG-IPLeiria).
Data CoLAB was one of the partners and rewarded the winners of the Higher Education Category with a six-month internship for all team members.
As part of the XXXI Jornadas de Classificação e Análise de Dados (Jornadas de Classificação e Análise de Dados - JOCLAD 2024), LEIRIACKATHON was aimed at secondary school students, CTeSP students and higher education undergraduate or master's students from any higher education institution and had the objective of "applying statistical and data analysis techniques to find solutions to real-world problems and challenges".
The award-winning teams in the two categories in competition (Category I: Secondary Education and CTeSP: and Category II: Higher Education - Bachelor's and Master's Degrees), were awarded the following prizes:
Secondary Education/CTeSP Category
- 1ST PLACE – 500€
- 2ND PLACE – 300€
- 3RD PLACE – 200€
This category includes four tickets to the ESTG-IPLeiria Summer Academy 2024 for the best secondary school team.
Higher Education Category
- 1ST PLACE €500 + Data CoLAB Internships (6-month internships for all team members)
- 2ND PLACE – 300€
- 3RD PLACE – 200€
The awards ceremony took place on April 20th at ESTG-IPLeiria.
